Who knew our ancestors were so trendy! If you were raised by grandma, then you know a trick or two when it comes to alternative medicine. Medicinal plants have been used for thousands of years; they’re not a thing of the past, but rather a future lifestyle trend.

Overall, I love the idea of this website. The consumer visits the Positive Luxury website to access information about top brands that are leading the way in environmental products. Their mission is easy to understand; informed consumers help build a better brand.

Until recently, the words luxury and sustainability were never really friends. The sustainability movement has influenced many brands to review their production process and develop better products for both consumers and the planet. This website helps promote the brands that are making a serious effort to develop quality products that consumers can purchase guilt free. The wonderful part about this website is that it’s open to anyone who is curious about taking a step towards sustainable products. Kudos, Diana Verde Nieto!

Child obesity is a growing threat in America, which is why Disney recently announced their plans to develop nutritional regulations for the company . The new regulations would inhibit the Disney Channel from airing advertisements for unhealthy products on their child-focused channels.

Although, it may burn bridges with some of the brands they currently advertise on their channel, the pros outweigh the cons. It may also be a motivating factor for some of these brands to incorporate healthier ingredients and do away with junk food. Kudos to Disney for the progressive move!

With Michelle Obama as first lady, it’s no wonder Americans are now taking an interest in healthier lifestyles. Rarely, do you see new trends appeal to both youth and adults, but cycling is a healthy exception. Incorporating cycling into one’s life has become easier in the past 6 years, especially for mothers. A busy mother doesn’t always have time to set aside for exercising, but with the new innovative bicycle designs she can easily kill two birds with one stone, while using her xtracycle to take her kids to school. You don’t necessarily have to look like you’re ready to do the Tour De France anymore when riding a bicycle. Various companies offer fashionable feminine cycling clothing, which are meant to motivate woman to commute. What better way to capture every inch of your environment at 10 mph, than cycling?

    A tip from our staff:

    • Check your local county’s website for rules, laws and regulations for bicyclist before riding. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/about/bicycle.htm
    • Riding on the sidewalk is not recommended, as cars pull in/out of driveways constantly.
    • In California, cyclist may take up the entire right lane if they need to. Check with your state for regulations
    • Always, wear a helmet!
