“Go outside and play…” was a phrase we used to hear, but these days kids are playing inside more, and the parks’ jungle gyms grow sadly bare. To compensate, kids’ indoor play spaces have become increasingly more elaborate and other-worldly, especially in regions outside of the US. Hopefully, more creative spaces for our kids will inspire that off-line play so valuable for growing little minds.

Mothers all across the U.S. can appreciate an app that allows them to search for a bathroom with a changing room or other special features. Heck, just finding a public restroom is enough sometimes!!

This app does not discriminate, it can be used on your iPhone or Android! As an Android user, I must say that it’s a bummer when a new application is centered around the iPhone and have to wait months for developers to launch the Android version. Bravo to P & G, well done.

For those of us who are bilingual, this application also caters to their Spanish-speaking audience as well.

Vera Holroyd of MomFocus Marketing wrote an insightful article for those of us in branding, specifically in the space of youth and their caregivers. Utilizing Mom-advisory boards may not only save an agency time, but may save money if the product isn’t an initial success.

We found this article to be informative:  http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/175414/just-ask-a-mom.html#reply

Whether it’s for play or for everyday, it seems that dressing up your kids in costume inspired clothing (hand-made or purchased) is popular. From little hipsters to rockabillies, kids today are out trending their parents, it’s adorable and we’re a little jealous.

How do these all relate? According to  Ethelbert Williams of Engage: Teens, branding leaders have the power to educate Millennials on the dangerous of sun exposure, hence preventing skin cancer.

In recent news, retail giant H&M was reprimanded by the Swedish Cancer Society because of their excessively tanned model in their new summer campaign. http://tiny.cc/9qsgew

Advertisements such as these promote overly tanned bodies, or “tanorexia” (addiction to tanning), rather than educate people on the dangerous of sun exposure. Online sales in the skin care category have soared among youth, which opens the door for branding leaders to reinforce skin protection.
